Recently we teamed up with Caribbean retail and construction company Kooyman. Together we are tackling the problem of plastic waste in the Caribbean and South America. We started in Curaçao and Bonaire. And now there is a third FUSE Kitchen operational in Barbados and a fourth on its way in Suriname.
Most waste in our FUSE locations is dumped on landfills that pose a threat to the environment and quality of life. There is also a need for locally produced building materials, so people living on the islands are less dependent on expensive import.
That is why our solution is a good match: with our FUSE Kitchen on site, we transform locally sourced plastic waste into building materials for the local market. These are affordable, durable products under the brand name, EkoDuro.
EkoDuro products are currently sold in the Kooyman stores and used for multiple applications such as fences, floors, and garden and beach furniture. Ekoduro is made from locally collected plastic waste. When you use Ekoduro you help clean up the island for future generations while supporting locally made products. The Ekoduro line represents positivity and hope.
